This is a vertical shoulder bag. The concept is to "put in only the minimum necessary items and quickly retrieve what is needed. Because of its vertical shape, it fits in front of the body when the adjuster is adjusted and pulled up to the chest. This reduces interference with arm swings, leg lifts, and other body movements while hiking. 

 

Production story

The first shoulder bag I used was very simple: vertical, with a mesh pocket and fixed shoulder length. I used it to carry a map, sunscreen, eye drops, action food, and a camera. During the trip, I was able to take out what I needed from my hand without having to drop my backpack.

Since then, shoulder bags have become an important part of my mountain trips.

However, the simple structure sometimes made it difficult to easily remove small items. It happened that I could not find them in my shoulder bag and did not use them. During a mountain trip, it is not always easy to do the smallest thing. Sometimes, these small things can become big scars later on.

It was necessary to be able to know where things were and to be able to retrieve them quickly. If there are too many pockets and compartments, it will become complicated and it will be difficult to know what you have put in where. I designed a shoulder bag with a minimum number of pockets, each with its own function.

 

Main pocket

TATE has one zipper slider due to its narrow frontage.

 

Pocket with belt

  • Width: 95mm(3.7inch)
  • Height : 148mm(5.8inch)
  • Gusset: 8-15mm(0.3-0.6inch)

You can put your phone or other frequently used items in this pocket. The front is equipped with a belt (daisy chain) with two loops. Lightweight items can be mounted.

 

Zipper pocket

  • Width: 74mm(2.9inch)
  • Height: 95mm(3.7inch)

 

The front zippered pocket is convenient for cards, bills, coins, etc.

 

Candy pocket

  • Width: 90mm(3.5inch)
  • Height : 110mm(4.3inch)
  • Gusset: 8mm-20mm(0.3-0.7inch)

There is a mesh pocket on the front. It is convenient to store frequently used items such as candy, tablets, sunscreen, insect repellent, and eye drops.

 

Back pocket

It can hold thin items such as maps.

 

Shoulder strap

The center is a soft nylon tape with a width of 25mm(1inch). When the bag is heavy or used for a long time, it reduces the burden on the shoulder.

This cord strap can be used in a variety of ways using the four holes on the bag. 

 

Care and storage method

This shoulder bag is made of laminated or coated material. It is sensitive to moisture, so after use, dry it in the shade and store it in a well-ventilated place.

If it gets dirty, wipe it off with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly.

There will be wrinkles during the production process. Also, markings such as chalk pens will remain.
