This DCF pouch features a 60mm (2.4in) bottom gusset. It is sized to store first-aid items conveniently inside a backpack. The slightly translucent material makes key items easy to spot from the outside, while the interior remains bright and highly visible.

Design Story

I always thought a Ziploc bag was enough for small items. But after becoming a bag maker, it started to feel a bit lacking. Above all, I wanted to avoid using plastic products as disposable items whenever possible.

To replace the easy-to-see contents of a Ziploc with something that could be cherished and used for a long time, DCF material was the perfect choice. KANTEN is the evolution of the Ziploc—made more practical and functional as a proper bag.

Main Pocket

Opening: 172mm (6.8in)

The opening is neither too wide nor too narrow, just enough for one hand to reach inside comfortably.

Gusset

Gusset: 60mm (2.4in, bottom only)

There is a 60mm (2.4in) foldable gusset at the bottom. The wide base allows plenty of items to fit inside. The pouch expands upward, making the interior easy to see. It also stands upright on flat surfaces.

Tabs

It’s just big enough for one finger to grip comfortably.

DCF

DCF (Dyneema Composite Fabric) is an ultra-thin, lightweight, and high-strength laminated film made from Dyneema (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fibers). Wrinkles and creases may appear during sewing. Over time, these increase and add a rich character to the material. Transparency may slightly decrease and the fabric may shrink accordingly.
